I think I might have found a new favorite place to take pictures! And it's right down the street from where I live! How lucky can that be?! I mean, nothing can compare to the beauty of Berry, but this place was wonderful! Thanks Holly for suggesting taking family pictures there! Here is a quick preview from this wonderful family!
Holly is another coworker of mine and she has the most adorable family! Her husband showed up with "redneck" teeth as a joke, so from the start we were laughing and having a good time!
Her two kids are just absolutely precious! I mean, look at those blue eyes! They were just so sweet and were very energetic!
One, two, three TURKEY was how I ended up getting the little one to smile towards the end. She seemed to think it was the funniest thing to yell turkey.
Holly, I had a great time with you and your family! Thanks for looking so wonderful! It made my job really easy :)

the Johnson girls
It's been awhile since I've updated the blog! Since then I've taken pictures for two of my coworkers. The first session was of one of my coworkers two adorable daughters. She has a five year old and a one year old, and they are seriously a hoot! I've never met a girl more curious than her youngest. Her eyes were everywhere, except on the camera of course. And her older daughter just kept me laughing the entire time! Anyway, enough of my chit-chatting: here are a few pictures from the session!

Hey everyone!
I'm offering mini sessions for EVERY weekend the ENTIRE month of October. That's 5 weekends to get pictures taken! With the beautiful fall leaves, cooler weather, awesome fall clothes there couldn't be a better time to get family photos taken! Don't forget the cute Halloween costumes all the kids will be wearing! Plus it's a great time to start thinking about those Christmas cards that need to be sent out!
What is a mini session?
A mini session is a quick 30 minute session held at a specific location. These sessions tend to be done in a more fun and relaxed setting.
How many pictures will I get?
You will then receive 10-15 pictures via CD within the next few weeks.
How much does a mini session cost me?
Each mini session will cost $75 a session. It is possible to book two mini session for an hour of shooting and twice as many pictures. The total cost of two mini sessions is $150.

Moldova 2011
I cannot begin to express in words the amazing things that happened in Moldova. There were many things that tried to throw us off our main goal of reaching and loving these kids. On our way there the brakes went out on the van. When we stopped to look at the brakes, we realized at any moment we could lose the rear end. So many things at this point were screaming at me "STOP! DON'T GO ON! YOU'RE IN DANGER! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" My feelings plummeted to the ground. In an instant I was scared to death, not wanting to continue on, but rather wait until we had a safer vehicle or something, anything, I just did not want to continue on with the way things were already going.
A still small voice, a voice that spoke straight into my soul, said "Trust." Simple. Straight-forward. Trust. Trust that there was a plan for all of this. One of my favorite verses came to mind:
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"
In that instant a peace came over me. Of course I was still nervous, but I knew we were ultimately in His hands. Nothing could change that fact.
Also, the fact that God is BIGGER than all of this. He had everything under control and nothing can stop Him.
God proved himself to be bigger so these little set backs did not hold us back. We had such an amazing experience that only God could have given us. We were able to pour out Christ's LOVE on these kids and see their whole demeanor change. They were filled with joy, the kind of joy only God can give.
It was amazing. God showed up in a BIG WAY and none of this would have been possible without Him.
Here are just a few pictures of the trip:
Moldova's soil is black. Completely filled with rich nutrients. This showed in all of their flowers and gardens. Their roses were extremely beautiful.
This is the wall of a fort built in the 1600s. There was such character in the stones.
A traditional Moldovan village.
A traditional Moldovan home. Most homes and gates were painted blue in order to reflect the heavens.
We visited an active underground monastery. This was a place of refuge for believers during the Crusades.
I don't know if you can see it, but on the right hand side of the picture there is a chain hanging from a hole in the side of the mountain. That is where another monk lives.
This cross survived the Crusades.
The Crusader's cross.
A church near the monastery.
Sweet Andre. He would follow me around, poke me in the back, smile, and say "Chubby Bunny." Those were the only English words the kids learned and they loved saying them!
This is Jonna. She is one of 10 (12 originally, but unfortunately 2 of her siblings passed away). 5 of those 10 were at the orphanage where we were, 2 were at an orphanage in Chisinau, 1 was at home, and 2 were married. She had such joy despite her circumstances, and she was such a joy for us to meet and hang out with.
This boy is very near and dear to my heart. Vlad. I saw him and knew. This is my "heart son" as I call him. I immediately felt connected with this boy. There was so much in his eyes that I couldn't pull away. He's 10 years old, and has so much life in him. His eyes just shine and his smile could light up the room. This boy holds a special place in my heart and I take comfort in knowing that God is holding him right now and taking care of him.
We took a morning and went out to the kids to give them oranges. Our whole purpose for the camp was to show the kids that they are valued, that they matter. The kids' faces lit up when they saw us coming. It was such a great experience!
We met some villagers out picking as well. There was such character in their eyes, hands, and faces.
We were able to share oranges and the love of Christ with them as well.
Here are just a few snapshots of my trip to Moldova. I hope you enjoyed looking at them and seeing just a few parts of the small story that we were involved in. If you want to learn any more about my trip feel free to email me. I'd love to share it with anyone willing to listen!

the Lenhart family
This past Sunday I had the opportunity to take pictures of an absolutely lovely family! The Lenhart's let me come into their wonderful home and take pictures of their beautiful children!
I got there at around 9 and started taking pictures. We started outside, so things didn't get too hot. I'm glad we weren't out there later because it was toasty that early! We took a break afterwards, nap time for the little one, and then got right back to it.
The Lenharts are such a cute family and it was a joy to spend time with them and capture their family moments!

Wire Method
Today I took pictures for the band Wire Method (you can check them out at www.wiremethod.com). It was so much fun to capture these three girls. They're so much fun and they have so much incredible talent! Here are just a few shots from the day.

Moldova Special
The definition of a vacation is "a period of suspension of work, study, or other activity, usually used for rest, recreation, or travel; recess or holiday." Starting tomorrow, I will be on vacation from my full-time job. A two month respite from the stresses that life can bring. Of course, I will miss everyone and by the time the two months are up I will be begging to go back to work. But for now, I am looking forward to the break.
This summer break I am hoping to spend traveling and taking pictures. The places on the map this summer: Bucharest, Romania and Chisinau, Moldova with a brief stop in Amsterdam on the way. Pictures will of course document my trip, and I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity. But in order for this trip to happen, I need support. To gain support I am offering pictures at a discounted price...only a $75 sitting fee! This fee will go to my trip. During this trip will we be helping at a day camp for orphans, building greenhouses, and handing out food bags to the elderly.
If you are interested in this deal, or even in just supporting the trip don't hesitate to email me for more details at alliwoodyphoto@gmail.com!
